Call to attend the Triton project summer school on “Sustainable management of coastal heritage and actions to mitigate coastal erosion”

Triton project, funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, launches a call for the selection of 16 students who will attend the Summer School on the issue of sustainable management of coastal heritage and actions to reduce coastal erosion.

It is a training and information course for public officials and professionals aimed at improving their skills in coastal management planning and actions against coastal erosion.

Specifically, the students will be: 8 residing in Italy and 8 in Greece.

Participation in the Summer School is for free and the students will benefit of travel and accommodation costs reimbursement (up to a maximum of 700 euros).

The Summer School is divided into six days of training of 6 hours each, divided into two modules: the first one in Western Greece (in Patras) and the second in Apulian Region of Italy. In particular, the module for Western Greece includes 2 days of lessons at the University of Patras and a study visit to the Gulf of Patraikos (which is affected by significant erosion phenomena), respectively on 24, 25 and 26 September 2019.

The Apulian module includes 2 days of lessons in Bari (location to be defined) and a study visit in a pilot case in Puglia, respectively on 1, 2 and 3 October 2019.

The course will be delivered by Apulia Region (project leader), in collaboration with ARTI, and the Triton project partners and includes lectures, visits and project works.

The Summer School will be held in English. To participate candidates must complete the form attached to this announcement (Annex 1), complete with Annex 2, which describes the competences of the candidates, as well as documents valid for traveling in Greece and Italy (passport or identity card), to be sent exclusively at the PEC address: arti@pec.rupar.puglia.it by 12.00 (CET) on 12-09-2019, with the “Summer School” object.

EXTENSION OF EXPIRY DATE EXPIRATION

With this notice it is announced that the deadline for the receipt of the candidacies relating to the Public Notice to attend the Summer School “Sustainable management of coastal heritage and action to mitigate coastal erosion” of the Triton project, is extended to 12:00 of 12 September 2019.
